Music on WhatsApp Status and Channels
Meta has expanded its music integration to include WhatsApp Status and WhatsApp Channels, providing new opportunities for organic discovery and fan engagement. If your music is delivered through ANS Music integration with the Facebook Audio Library and Facebook Fingerprinting, it is now automatically eligible to appear on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp Status – Share Music with Ease

WhatsApp users can now add up to 60 seconds of music to a photo or video Status directly from Meta’s Audio Library. This update offers a seamless way for fans to share and engage with your music:

  • Private Sharing: Share music updates securely with contacts through WhatsApp’s end-to-end encrypted model.

  • 24-Hour Visibility: Status updates are visible in the ‘Updates’ section and remain live for 24 hours.

  • Instant Access: Music options appear automatically from Meta’s Audio Library.

WhatsApp Channels – Broadcast Directly to Your Fans

Meta has also introduced WhatsApp Channels, a new way for artists, labels, and organizations to share updates directly with their followers.

  • One-Way Communication: Followers can receive updates but cannot reply directly.

  • Private Interactions: Reactions are private—followers can respond with emojis or participate in polls without revealing their information.

  • Enhanced Discovery: Keep fans updated directly within WhatsApp’s communication stream, offering a unique space for artist news and releases.

    • Non-exclusive beats or samples

    • Public domain material

    • Generic sounds (e.g., white noise, simple drum loops)

    • AI-generated music without disclosed datasets

    • Alternate versions of existing recordings (e.g., remixes, karaoke, instrumental versions)
